We have Roto artists who specializes in creating rotoscopes for use in animation and visual effects. They use software tools to
trace over live-action footage frame by frame, creating accurate and detailed rotoscopes that can be used to guide the animation process. Roto artists must have a keen eye for detail and be able to work with precision, as the rotoscopes they create must be highly accurate in order to produce realistic animations.
Roto Artists work closely with visual effects supervisors to ensure that the rotoscopes they create match the desired look and feel of the final animation or visual effects shot.
Paint/Prep
Our team of Paint/Prep artists involves in the process of
cleaning up, repairing, and manipulating the elements of a live-
action shot in order to make it suitable for use in a visual
effects sequence. This can include removing unwanted
elements from the shot such as wires, rigs or green screens,
grain removal and grain matching, generation of clean patches
through collaging or clone painting on still frames, repairing
and touch-up of the image, and creating new elements to be
composited into the shot. This team is responsible for creating
and manipulating the digital images, and ensuring that they match the look and feel of the live-action footages. Our
Paint/Prep artists have a good understanding of visual effects
techniques and software, as well as a keen eye for detail.
Matchmove
We have a team of specialised Matchmove artists who are well
versed with the process of motion tracking which involves
tracking the movement of specific points in a live-action shot
and using that information to replicate the movement in a
virtual camera in the 3D animation software, allowing for the
integration of live-action and computer-generated elements in
a seamless way. Our well trained Matchmove artists match
computer-generated (CG) scenes with shots from live-action
footage so the two can be convincingly combined. Our artists
are highly accurate and meticulous in their work. It needs to be
pixel perfect, so they need an eye for detail.
Keying
Key artists isolates a specific color or range of colors in a
footage or image and replacing it with a different background.
This is commonly used to remove a background from a live-
action shot, so that a different background can be added in
post-production. The specific color or range of colors that is
being replaced is known as the "key color." Our artists uses software that can accurately isolate the key color and replace it
with the desired background.
Compositing
Our experienced Compositing team combines elements filmed
during production with Computer Generated Imagery (CGI)
created by other artists to blend them together seamlessly. The
compositing process involves using specialized software to
layer, adjust, and manipulate these elements to achieve a
seamless integration and create the desired final look. Our
team also fix problems in the footage that occurred during
filming, and find methods to enhance VFX shots to better
match the director’s vision. All of the final layers are assembled
by Compositors, who can transform a shot into something
spectacular.
